Saša Čučnik
Ass. prof.dr. Sasa Cucnik undertook her education at the University of Ljubljana, Department of Molecular biology and graduated in 1995. She undertook her work in the Medicine faculty of Ljubljana, Institute of Microbiology. After that she started her postgraduate research work at University Medical centre of Ljubljana, Department of Rheumatology, Immunology laboratory. In 2003 she spent several months educational training in Staten Serum Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. She finished her PhD study in 2004 and she has been involved in a national research program: Systemic autoimmne diseases and postgraduate school at the University of Ljubljana. During the past 7 years she has actively participated in many professional meetings and congresses, among others the most important for her work EULAR Annual Congress of Rheumatology and European Workshop for Rheumatology Research (European Consensus Finding Study Group on autoantibodies), International congress on Antiphospholipid Antibodies, International Congress on Autoimmunity and she has been actively involved in The European Forum on Antiphospholipid Antibodies. In 2008 she finished specialisation from medical biochemistry. From the beginning of 2016 she is a head of Immunology laboratory in the Department of Rheumatology. She holds an Assistant Professorship (since 2009) at the University Of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy, Slovenia. She has many years of experience in the development and evaluation of an in house diagnostic methods for APS and other autoimmune related tests as well as their implementation in routine practice. Since 2003 she is a (co)supervisor for undergraduate thesis and since 2011 for doctoral dissertations. She has over 50 published original scientific/review articles, 5 chapters, many invited lectures and over 90 published abstracts.
